In the thirteen days since the writ was dropped, all parties have made promises and pledges in an effort to get your support. And one party is surging ahead of all the others - at least according to the latest poll.

The survey was conducted by Ipsos Reid on behalf of CanWest News Service and Global National.

It found that the Conservatives, led by Stephen Harper, are enjoying a comfortable 12 point lead over the Stephane Dion's Liberals. Not only that, the party has made significant gains in vote-rich Ontario.

At the national level, 40 per cent of voters who have already made up their minds are going Conservative.

That's compared to only 27 per cent for the Liberals. Even worse for Dion's party, the Tories gained two points while the Grits lost the same amount in the past week.

Meanwhile, the NDP moved ahead two points to sit at 15 per cent support, a move sure to please Jack Layton. The leader asked for the resignation of two candidates earlier in the week when they were allegedly seen on film appearing to smoke marijuana.

The Greens, led by Elizabeth May, dropped one point to sit at 10 per cent.

The Bloc Quebecois has 29 per cent of the vote in Quebec, down six points. They're sitting at eight per cent in national support.
