In what could be interpreted as a sign of public
dissatisfaction of the Liberals' various scandals in
recent weeks, the CBC reported that Liberal Party
support had "plummeted" since January.

There were a couple of interesting things about this poll.

One is where Liberal support has apparently gone.
According to the Ipsos-Reid poll, Liberal support
dropped nine points, from 48% in January to 39% on
Valentine's Day 2004. The Conservatives, by contrast,
had only risen five points, to 24%. The NDP have risen
two points, to 18%.

While the Liberals had made a statistically significant
drop, which party really benefitted from it?  As
Canadians were disturbed and disgusted by the
incompetence shown by the current administration, they
had no confidence at this point that any party will do
better.
